William F. Lent
March 13, 1950 - February 14, 2022
William F. Lent of Peekskill passed away on Feb. 14, 2022. William was born March 13, 1950 in the Bronx to William and Wilma Lent. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On September 12, 1970 he married Genevieve Larsen at Our Lady of Fatima in Scarsdale. Billy was known as the candy man or Willy Wonka because he always had a piece of candy to give and usually a joke to go with it. He retired from UPS upon completing 30 years of employment. Billy spent his most recent years working at the Mohansic Golf Course, which he often referred to as "the best job he ever had." Billy's coworkers were among his closest friends, and the Mohansic Family provided a home away from home during one of the most difficult times he faced. Billy loved playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends. When he wasn't on the golf course, Billy was most happy when his family was all together. William is survived by his daughter Maria Naldini, son Jamie Lent (Carrie), daughter Pamela Capraro (Scott), sister Patricia Cohen (Rich) and a brother Philip Taggart. Also survived by 6 grandchildren Samantha, Christopher, William, Katherine, Brayden and Riley. He was predeceased by his wife Genevieve on Feb. 11, 2021. Family and friends will gather to honor Williams's life at the Yorktown Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8pm. Mass of Christian burial Friday at Church of the Holy Spirit at 10:15am
