Ryszard Kozicz

Ryszard Kozicz, 58, died suddenly in his sleep on January 1, 2022 in his home in Yorktown Heights, New York. Ryszard Kozicz was born in Poland on May 3, 1963 to Anna and Kazimierz Kozicz. Ryszard met the love of his life, Dr. Izabela Kozicz, while still in high school. They married in 1986 in Poland and after immigrating to the United States, they raised two daughters, Ada and Magda, in New York. Ryszard was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He attended Warsaw School of Economics and graduated from Hunter College in New York. Additionally, he obtained a Masters in Teaching from the School of Education at Mercy College. Ryszard dedicated his life to helping others. He worked tirelessly in the Polish and Slavic Center helping the Polish American immigrant community with social and cultural services including housing and legal issues. He also pursued a teaching career in High School Mathematics before dedicating himself full time to raising his two daughters and taking care of his family. Ryszard had an incredibly brilliant mind and was passionate about mathematics, reading, current events, and trading stocks. Ryszard was kind, caring, loving and had an exceptional sense of humor. He above all loved spending time with his family, joking around, and teaching his children. He will be dearly remembered and missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother Anna, his wife Izabela, daughters, Ada and Magda, and siblings, Jerzy and Ewa and their families. His funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 in Westchester, NY.
