Ronald Spreer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronald Michael Spreer of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away on July 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 9, 1956, in Yonkers, NY, to Lucy (nee Urban) and Herbert Spreer. He attended Yonkers public schools, graduating from Saunders Trades and Technical High School. Ron married his beloved wife Marianna Cristaldi on June 6, 1981, and they spent 41 wonderful years together, welcoming one daughter, Kelsey Marie. Ron enjoyed a long career working for the Westchester County Department of Environmental Facilities at plants throughout the county, retiring as a supervisor in 2012 after 32 years of service. Most recently, he ran his own successful business, A-1 Pavement Services. Anyone that knew Ron knew he had a dry sense of humor and loved to laugh, that he could be a bit stubborn and lived life by his own set of rules, and most of all that he had a tremendous heart. He was loyal and giving, always willing to help others, and he deeply loved his family, particularly his wife, daughter and beautiful granddaughter Dakota Rose, who he doted on. Like his father, Ron was a great animal lover and cherished his many dogs and cats. He enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore, where he made many great memories. Ron also loved spending time with his extended family and friends, hosting many celebrations at his home for Christmas, Fourth of July and New Year's Eve over the years. Family gatherings will never be the same without Ron. He will be forever missed. He is survived by his wife, Marianna, his daughter Kelsey and her partner James Fairchild of Peekskill, NY, his granddaughter Dakota, his sisters, Lenore Boytim of Scarsdale, NY, and Patricia Schurr and her husband Jack of Pawling, NY, several nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends, who he loved so much and loved him abundantly in return. He is also survived by his mother in law Ida Cristaldi. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucy and Herbert Spreer. Family and friends are invited to Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 East Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. for memorial visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ron on Wednesday, July 6 at 10:15 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1969 Crompound Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
