Patricia Marie DiPietro
May 10, 1943 - February 9, 2022
Patricia Dipietro, age 78, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Patti was born at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina where her father was stationed during WWII. She was then raised in Harrison, New York. She was a proud graduate of Harrison High School and maintained lifelong friendships with many of her classmates. She lovingly raised her 3 children in Harrison then in Mt Kisco. Patti worked for more than 25 years as a preschool teacher at North Greenwich Nursery School and Little Sparrows Nursery School in Armonk. She loved doing arts and crafts with the children and cherished her time helping them learn and prepare for their elementary school years. After retiring from working with children in 2013, Patti became a member of the Lions Club and volunteered for the Women's Club of Bedford Hills. While Patti excelled at helping her preschool students, she was a mother and eventually a grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana, spending as much time as possible with her four grandchildren. She made each of them feel special, never missing a game, concert, play, recital or birthday in 22 years. Patti had an infectious personality and was at the center of the activities everywhere she went. She was passionate about reading, consuming a book a week;. She loved her walks; Going to matinee movies with her friends; Attending afternoon lunch dates and she placed the utmost value on the relationships she had with her friends. Her kind, generous and unselfish way made her a best friend to so many. She loved to play Scrabble with her children and grandchildren, usually beating everyone, even just a few weeks before her passing. She loved the theater and all that New York City had to offer. Additionally, she loved writing poems and always signed with her signature heart. What Patti was most passionate about, other than her children and grandchildren, was the ocean, the beach and travel. With her family, she spent summers in Cape Cod and vacationed to the Caribbean. Over the years she enjoyed multiple trips to France, Italy and Mexico with both friends and relatives, and loved heading to Naples, Florida every February. She is survived by her three children, Kimberly Jenkins (Jason), Cheryl Bueti (Dominic), and Steven DiPietro (Lisa), her beloved grandchildren (431) Sophia, Emma, Steven and Olivia and her sister Jackie Allen. Patti is predeceased by her former husband Douglas DiPietro of Harrison. Family and friends are invited to attend a Christian Mass on Saturday, February 12th at St. Gregory's Church in Harrison, NY at 12:00pm, 215 Halstead Avenue, Harrison, NY 10528.
