Michael Maffei

Michael C. Maffei of Yorktown Heights passed away on October 19, 2020. Michael was born May 7, 1945 in Yonkers to Michael & Theresa Maffei. Michael served honorably in the National Guard. He received an Undergraduate and Master’s Degree from Manhattan College. He married Irene Bentivenga on March 16, 1969. Michael was a teacher in the Yonkers Public School system from 1970 to 2000. Aside from his family, his greatest love was being in the Adirondacks. Growing up he spent many summers working at his aunt’s lodge and came to love the scenery and the tranquility of the North Country. He also loved baseball, specifically the NY Yankees, and always watched all of the games. Michael is survived by his wife Irene, daughters Michele Maffei and Teresa Proto (Michael), granddaughters Daniela Proto and Giuliana Proto, and a brother, Lawrence Maffei.
