Matthew Joseph Larkin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Matthew Joseph Larkin a resident of Mohegan Lake, New York passed away on February 5th, 2022. Matthew was born on February 8th, 1997 to Kevin and Nancy Larkin. Matthew is a graduate of Walter Panas High School and has spent the last few years traveling, meeting new friends, and finding a love of hiking the mountains in both Colorado and California while employed out there. Upon returning home, Matt began working at Air Professional Associates in Brewster. As much as he enjoyed the work and travel, Matt recently decided to return to school full time to pursue an environmental science degree with the intent of heading back out west upon completion. As cliché as it may sound, Matthew never met a stranger who did not become a friend. Matt's contagious and captivating smile, outgoing personality and ability to live life on his own terms made his reach far and wide. Matthew is survived by his older brother, Brian, his maternal grandparents John and Marian, his paternal grandmother Carol, Aunts and Uncles (Laura and Eddie, MaryEllen and Chris, Karen and Rob), cousins, (Emma, Jack, Amanda, Kellie, Gregory and Kristina) and many, many friends who to him were his extended family. Matthew is predeceased by his paternal grandfather James. Family and friends will honor Matthew's life on Friday from 4 to 8pm at Yorktown Funeral Home 945 East Main Street Shrub Oak, NY.
