Mary Ellen Capshaw

Mary Ellen Capshaw a resident of Tuckahoe NY passed away on April 7th 2022. Mary Ellen was born on October 19th 1932 in New York, New York to John and Delia O'Keeffe. Our Mom and Grandma will be missed by friends and family alike for her kindness, great sense of humor, and quick whit. Mary was a lover of animals and nature. Mary retired from the NYCHA and held many positions prior. She graduated from Iona college with a BA degree. Mary enjoyed participating in the Village of Tuckahoe Library and Board of Trustees meetings. She is survived by her son Sean Capshaw his wife Jeannette, and daughter Deirdre-Anne Barr. Mary Ellen is also survived by her six grandchildren,Julia, Sean, Brendan and Glen Capshaw and Shannon and Meagan Walak. She is predeceased by her daughter Theresa-Lynne. Friends and family will honor Mary Ellen's life at Yorktown Funeral Home 945 East Main Street Shrub Oak, NY 10588 on Monday from 4 to 8pm. A mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton 1377 East Main Street Shrub Oak, NY 10588 Friends and family will honor Mary Ellen's life at Yorktown Funeral Home 945 East Main Street Shrub Oak, NY 10588 on Monday from 4 to 8pm.
