Lisa Marie DeMatte, February 17, 1955 – September 4, 2020, Mohegan Lake, NY Lisa M DeMatte passed away peacefully, at age 65, after a brave battle against ovarian cancer on September 4, 2020. Lisa was a teacher and Literacy Coach for over 33 years in the NYC Department of Education. Specifically, Lisa spent a majority of her career working at Elementary School P.S. 111 in the Bronx, NY. Lisa will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, godmother, mentor, and friend by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Nicholas DeMatte; as well as her brother, Jeffrey DeMatte Sr.; sister-in-law Darcey DeMatte; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless friends. Lisa was preceded in death by both of her loving parents, Roger and Marie DeMatte. In lieu of flowers, the DeMatte Family requests donations be made to the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation.
