Linda L. Barnes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barnes, Linda Lee Schultz, age 83, died on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she resided in Cortlandt Manor, NY for 55 years. Daughter of the late Russell and Ruth Schultz, Linda was a graduate of The King's College and later earned a Master of Music Education degree from Western Connecticut State College. Linda is best remembered as a generous caring person, who did her best to help those around her, and for her lifelong passion for music and education. She was an accomplished pianist, a conductor, and a teacher who inspired and encouraged her students in vocal, instrumental, appreciation, and music history. For many years, she taught at Robert E. Bell School in Chappaqua, NY and was an excellent educator and choir conductor and worked with colleagues in the production of various shows. In her personal life, she was a conductor for the Harvey Cedars Bible Conference Choir for several years and for more than 40 years served as an accompanist at Community Bible Church of Northern Westchester. Predeceased by 3 siblings, she is survived by her children Geoffrey (Martha) and Timothy (Rose), and their father Allen, grandchildren: Geoffrey, Joshua, and Lindsey, and her great grandchildren: Rosemary, Nora, Etsuko, Tali, and Lola. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 1pm at: Community Bible Church of Northern Westchester 301 Chadeayne Rd. Ossining, NY 10562. Her family, friends, and some of the many lives she touched will be present to honor her. A brief reception will follow.
