Anna Fiorella

June 2, 1941 - February 18, 2022

Anna Cortina Fiorella of Amawalk N.Y. passed away on Feb. 18, 2022. Anna was born in Ripi Frosinone Italy on June 2, 1941 to Enrico and Caterina Cortina. Anna arrived in the United States in 1958 and resided in the Bronx, N.Y. On January 13, 1963 she married Augusto Fiorella. Blessed with two children, the family settled in Yonkers, N.Y. Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Friend, this truly angelic Giver suddenly passed away the morning of Friday, the 18th of February. A woman of 80 years, but full of life, epitomized the best in all of us. Prior to retiring, Anna was a talented seamstress, dress manufacturer and business owner. She greatly enjoyed cooking and loved working in the garden with her husband, but nothing gave her greater pleasure than spending time with her family and friends, always laughing, especially with her grandchildren. Over the years, her family seemed to continue growing; if you became her friend, you were part of her family. Your indoctrination would be her spontaneously cooking your favorite dish and surprising you with a special delivery. Her memorable Ciambelle were legendary, the BEST! Surely to be spoken of for years to come. Leaving an exemplary legacy, she will be loved, as she would always say, to the moon and back, infinity and beyond. Anna is survived by her husband Augusto, son Francesco, daughter Lucy (Frank) Femia, brothers and sisters Lucia Carlacci, Bina Recine, Benedetto Cortina, Alberto Cortina, Yolanda Ferrante and Michelina Ferrante. Also survived by 4 grandchildren Arthur, Joseph, Anderson and Anastasia. Predeceased 2 sisters Livia Perciballi and Felice Imperioli and a brother Raniero Cortina. Family and friends will honor Anna's life at the Yorktown Funeral Home on Thursday Feb. 24, 2022 from 3 to 8pm. Mass of Christian burial Friday Feb. 25, 10am at St. Patrick's Church 137 Moseman Avenue Yorktown Heights, NY. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery Hartsdale, NY.
