Mary Flood passed peacefully on Friday September 14, 2012.  Mary was born on July 12, 1932 and raised on the family farm near Miltown, Co. Clare, Ireland.  A graduate of the Dunsallagh National School she immigrated to the United States when she was seventeen.   A longtime homemaker Mary also took great pride in her career with the A & P and Shopwell supermarkets.  She enjoyed the company of family and friends or quiet time with a good book.  Mary was known for her keen sense of humor and wit; she will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Bridget Murray; her brother P.J.; her sisters Elizabeth Shea and Ann McGrath; and brother-in-laws Dennis Callahan and Robert Seeger.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of fifty six years John Flood; her loving children and their spouses-Lawrence (Debbie), Sean (Mary), Kevin (Diane), Eileen Conklin (Andrew) and James (Lisa); her cherished grandchildren-Elisa Conklin, Dan, Brian, Kathleen, Brendan, Jessica, Rebecca, Collin and Julia Rose Flood; her siblings Bridget and Martin; in-laws Paul Shea, Patrick McGrath and Marie Seeger; her Godson Paul Shea; beloved nieces and nephews; her best friend Rose Hamilton; many lifelong close friends and neighbors.

Friends may call at the Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 East Main Street, Shrub Oak, N.Y.        , Sunday from 2-4 and at 7-9.  Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Columbanus on Monday at 11 AM with internment following at Assumption Cemetery.  May she rest in eternal peace.
