Lucille Iaquinto Garofalo went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 20 2012.  She was born on May 29th 1932 to Pietro & Filomena Iaquinto.
Lucille was born and raised in New York City and was the youngest of nine children.  She and Carlo (Chuck) Garofalo were married in 1951 and made the Bronx their home for many years.  She retired in 1997 after working 21 years as Director of Housekeeping at Ft. Schuyler House.  She loved going to work each day and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with residents and co-workers. The affection was returned as evidenced by the retirement party that was thrown in her honor.  It was a bittersweet day as she moved on to the next chapter in her life. Upon retiring, Lucille and Chuck moved to Fishkill, NY where they lived for 11 years before moving to Ft. Myers, FL.  While in Fishkill, she became active at the local senior center.  As usual, her outgoing personality and big smile helped her to make friends quickly.  She enjoyed meeting for a game of cards, a trip to a show or just lunch for some girl talk.  She and Chuck were parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church during their time in Fishkill.  In 2008 they moved to Shell Point Retirement Community.
Lucille loved her family and had a close relationship with her siblings.  Her children and grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy.  In addition to her parents, Lucille is predeceased by five siblings: Rose, Celia, Jimmy, Frank and Marie.  Surviving relatives include husband Chuck, son Joe, daughters Janet (Joe) and Susan (Greg) and sisters Ann, Jennie (Tony) and Anna.  Also left to mourn her loss are 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters a great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and friends.  The Garofalo family will receive friends at the Yorktown Funeral Home on Saturday August 4, 2012 at 9:30am.  A mass of Christian burial will be held at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 11am.  Entombment of cremated remains to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery
